In what turned out to be a five year mission to explore alternatives to rabid redevelopment, the Undershaw Preservation Trust has successfully raised the funds required to purchase one of the former homes of Arthur Conan Doyle from the developer who purchased it in 2004. After years of languish the home will be restored and dedicated to use as a childrens school.
It is a far better use than ones I have suggested and I am excited that this will happen. Surely there will be a campaign to raise funds for the reconstruction costs. As developments unfold I will post updates.
Well done, friends, well done indeed.
